The Arctic

Geographical Regions

The Arctic Region in Northern Canada is a combination of lowland and mountains. The mountains are found at northwest corner of the Arctic and lowlands are found at the island in the eastern half. Much of the Arctic is very flat and the mountains of the north were formed by folding and are presently covered by glaciers.

This region have very severe climate because it is so far from the equator. It is covered with snow, because once it snows, the snow doesn't melt easily. This climate makes it difficult for humans to survive there. Crops can't be grown here either, so food is a problem. These 2 negative features outweigh the positive feature: there is a wealth of natural resources such as oil, gas, and minerals.
